Where are they?

VIVA

AASMA

Where are these Channel V Coke Pop Stars? I remember the hype they had when they were crowned pop stars...After they were selected, you could hear their debut album blaring everywhere...Viva was better than Aasma(that's my opinion). I wonder where they are and what happened to them? Its surprising that Channel V did not go for a 3rd group of pop stars...Guess they got tired with the 'nakras' these guys showed once they formed a band :)

To me they are Empty vessels.

I do hope the V Super Singers do well though. Have you noticed how there is hardly any Chennai coverage for most of these contests while some of the best singers in the country are from Chennai, even in Hindi

I,
Nakras means gimmicks!

artnavy,
Yeah these national shows are biased. they go and pick up singers above the vindhyas(AP is an exception).

Hi....I happened to chance upon your blog while searching for Viva.....definitely were one of the more reasonable gal-bands out there. Still remember the ruckus that Channel V created in launching some pretty hummamble (one of the reasons I ended up searching for them on the net!) tunes with a medley of popular music directors and lyricists. Grapevine had it that some internal bickerning caused the band to split....thats not the first time we are hearing that story, no?

the jongleur,
welcome :) yep I read about the bickering too and I guess 1 or 2 of the gals left for higher studies abroad...Infact 'Band of Boys' was formed by Leslie Lewis as a competition for Viva gals :)
