Hi. India is by and large a peaceful country. Why was there a border war with Pakistan at one time? Because India was threatened. Israel as you indicate is a tiny country surrounded by enemies who have sworn to destroy it. It lives with the constant threat of anniliation. Although they may be guilty of over-reaction the Isrealies will do anything to survive; the Jewish nation was nearly completely destroyed by Hitler - they simply will not let that happen. Thanks for reading this and good luck with your blog. I always try to read any blogs from India because that nation are often the best users of the English language. Regards, Bazza

I really at times wish we had gone the Bhagat Singh way instead of the Gandhian way.We could have been a stronger nation.

Bazza,
You are very right.

vinod,
I agree with you. In the name of Gandhian way, things seem to be screwed up in our nation.

kutti,
true.

Whereas I like Israel a lot, I would think that Gandhian way is still right.

Those who say, "Has peace achieved anything?", should ponder over what war has achieved. Since both are futile, why kill and spread hatred?

Vinod says, "we could have been a stronger nation." What is strength? Suppose I wanted to prove I'm strong, do I go out and kill a few others? It is peace which requires strength. It takes a lot of courage and strength to have a high threshold of tolerance.
